The DTerminator 2 PMT/PMX/PMP pole mounted closure terminal is intended for new construction and rehabilitation, providing mechanical strength, security, and environmental protection for your connection. The kit consists of two main components: a plastic housing and a DTerminator 2 10-pair terminal block. TYCO TELECOMMUNICATIONS (COMMSCOPE)Electronics’ unique IIDC (inverted insulation displacement connector) accommodates 1.02 - 51mm (18-24 AWG) subscriber wires without stripping the insulation or using special tools. Wires can be connected and disconnected many times, even after prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures. The DTerminator 2 PMT terminal features a hinged door, facilitating drop wire installation. The DTerminator 2 PMX upgradable terminal block includes a ground strip. Although it is an unprotected model, the PMX driver modules can be easily replaced in the field with protected driver modules, creating a protected pair unit when needed, saving unnecessary initial cost. The DTerminator 2 PMP protected terminal block contains driver modules with factory sealed circuit protectors. Each connection is protected with a three-element gas discharge tube. Product Information Patented GelGuard gel sealing technology provides superior sealing performance in environmentally demanding terminal applications. Factory-tested, field-proven systems provide reliable, sealed connections with intuitive, easy to install, craft-friendly modules. Clear materials allow visual inspection of electrical connections. Gel-protected test ports in the top of each driver module facilitate fast, easy testing with standard test clips. Special circuit markers are available for easy identification of special lines. An audible click informs the craftsman when the driver is properly seated for wire insertion. A single bolt terminates each pair into a driver module through which the connection is visible. A single drop wire port further simplifies installation by eliminating the chance of placing the drop wire in the wrong port. DTerminator 2 terminal products are available in a wide range of pair counts. Protected and unprotected blocks of the same pair count are the same size, leaving plenty of room to store wirework in the compact housings. DTerminator 2 terminal blocks and plastic housings are UL Listed. Molded into the housing, side-entry grommets provide built-in strain relief and can accommodate multi-pair drop wire. DTerminator 2 terminal products are compliant with Telcordia specifications
