Product Description

GENERAL MACHINE PRODUCTS 66050 JACK SMALL CABLE REEL 18"-30" NEW The Small Cable Reel Jack is primarily used for block and building cable and strand reels. The jack consists of a steel frame, a tee for accepting the spindle and a screw assembly. The height of the jack, from the base to the center of the spindle ranges from a minimum of 19 in. (483 mm) to a maximum of 30 in.(762 mm) when fully extended.

Due to its lighter construction, the jacks may vibrate during the pulling operation. Holes are provided in the base for securing the jacks to planks or lags if required.

The jacks are sold in pairs with a 15 in.(381 mm lever bar, However the 1.50 in. x 48 in.(38 mm x 1219 mm) long spindle must be ordered separately. The jacks have a durable black finish for extra corrosion protection.

Two of these jacks can support reels weighing up to 2250 lbs. (1021 kgs)

Note: Caution should be used when positioning the spindle in the tee. It should not be near the end of the tee as there are no locking pin holes provided in the jack.

Cable Reel Jack P/N 66050 Weight 60 lbs/pair, (27 kgs) sold in pairs

Spindle P/N 66051 Weight: 11 lbs. (5 kgs)

In general, cable reel jacks should not be used in cable or strand placing operations that require braking of the reel.

These operations should be performed with the reel mounted on a trailer that is equipped with a brake.

When used on soft or uneven ground the jacks should be placed on heavy planks or lags to prevent sinking or tipping. A reel of cable may weigh as much as several tons; therefore its movement must be controlled at all times. Careful watch must be maintained throughout the operation to ensure that the reel is level and that the jacks have not sunk into soft earth.

Jacks should be stored flat to minimize the possibility of tipping, and with the screw assembly fully retracted to protect the threads.
