P/N 07385 B Cable Damper
Used to help mitigate large amplitude, low frequency vibrations that can cause serious cable damage. - Inside a sealed steel cylinder is a spring-supported weight that, as the line sways, will move up and down inside the cylinder like a piston, damping the line motion. - An adjustable bracket is included for attaching the damper directly to the supporting strand or messenger. - Installation is simple. From your starting pole, place a single damper 1/3 of the way along the span. Where severe wind conditions are a problem, place a second damper about 3/4 of the way across the span. - For spans longer than 150 ft. (46 m) in windy areas, add a third damper at the halfway point.
